Newly elected US Vice President Vance expressed hope for an agreement between Israel and Hamas as soon as possible. In an interview with Fox News, the vice president said that an agreement between Israel and Hamas could be reached soon, and that the development is because people fear that it will have dangerous consequences for Hamas. "We're hopeful that an agreement is going to be reached toward the very end of the Biden administration, maybe the last day or two," he said. He was responding to a question about what President-elect Donald Trump meant last week when he said Hamas would make the Middle East hell if it did not release its remaining prisoners. "It's very clear that President Trump's threat to Hamas and making it clear that the consequences will be hell is why we've made progress in getting some of the hostages out," Vance said.
