Referendum in Greenland on joining the United States, what was the result?
After Donald Trump's desire to join Greenland in the United States, there was a referendum, which has come out with a surprising result. Donald Trump has started expressing his expansionist ambitions with his statements only after being elected the American president for the second time. Sometimes they make controversial statements about Mexico, sometimes they talk about the occupation of Greenland, and sometimes they leave the hope of making Canada the 51st state by merging it with the United States. He made such a statement in the past few days about making the island country of Greenland a part of the United States, which received a negative reaction at the global level. According to foreign media, when a referendum was held in Greenland, surprisingly, the majority of Greenland residents voted in support of joining the United States. In a referendum conducted by the Patriot Polling Foundation, 57.3 percent of participants agreed to Greenland becoming part of the United States. 37.4 percent opposed it while 5.3 percent did not express any opinion on it. The referendum was held during a visit by Donald Trump Jr., son of the newly elected president. It should be noted that Donald Trump has repeatedly announced his interest in acquiring this island. The island is located between the Arctic Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean and is an autonomous administrative division within the Kingdom of Denmark. The population of Greenland consists of only 57 thousand people. It belongs to Denmark but has the right to rule itself. It has reserves of minerals, oil and natural gas. But its slow growth has made its economy dependent on fishing and annual subsidies from Denmark.
