Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed willingness to resume direct air service in a meeting with Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri in Beijing. According to the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it has been agreed to resume direct flights between China and India. Chinese and Indian officials will meet soon to discuss the framework for resumption of flights. It should be noted that the relations between the two countries have been strained since the 2020 military clashes in the disputed border area between China and India. Because of this, direct air services between the two countries were suspended in 2020 itself.
