Gaza Ceasefire Agreement Is Closer, US Secretary of State
US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken has said that the Gaza ceasefire agreement is very close, which will allow the release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza. During a press conference with his French counterpart Jean-Noel Birot in Paris, he said that in the Middle East we are very close to an agreement regarding the ceasefire and the hostages. According to the report of the foreign news agency Al Jazeera, he said that indirect negotiations are taking place between Israel and the Hamas movement in Qatar for the Gaza ceasefire. The Qatari Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that Gaza ceasefire talks are continuing at the technical level and delegations are meeting continuously in Cairo and Doha. Later, Israel made fresh accusations against Hamas regarding the failure of Palestine to reach a cease-fire agreement in the Gaza Strip. It should be remembered that a senior official of the Israeli Foreign Ministry blamed Hamas for the failure of the ceasefire. The Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Edin Bar Tal, said that the only way to reach an agreement is to put pressure on the Hamas movement. The allegations, on the other hand, came after a Hamas official revealed last Sunday that Hamas had agreed to a list of 34 prisoners presented by Israel for a possible ceasefire in the devastated Gaza Strip. will be exchanged under the agreement. He also reminded that any agreement is conditional on an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and a permanent ceasefire.
