According to the international news agency, a large number of people were also injured in the accident, some of whom were seriously injured.

According to reports, the death toll from the tanker explosion in Nigeria has risen to 98, while the condition of many people is still critical.

The local administration tried its best to control the situation after the explosion that took place on January 18. Husseini Issa, the operations chief of the National Emergency Management Agency, said that the death toll may rise further.

It is noteworthy that such incidents have increased significantly in Africa's largest oil producing country, due to which hundreds of people have lost their lives.

According to reports, a similar explosion took place in Jigawa State in October 2024, in which 147 people were killed. It was one of the worst accidents in Nigeria.

Due to the high cost of fuel, people start collecting oil, but their efforts lead to their death.

It should be noted that a year ago, the president ended the oil subsidy, after which several incidents of looting occurred, which led to accidents.
