Former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard becomes US National Intelligence Director.
According to foreign media reports, the US Senate confirmed Tulsi Gabbard by a vote of 48 to 52, while only one Republican voted against her.
Tulsi Gabbard was sworn in as US Director of National Intelligence on Wednesday.
After the swearing-in ceremony in the Oval Office, he said the US would refocus intelligence on national security and ensure that intelligence is not used for political purposes.
It should be noted that Tulsi Gabbard has also served as a lieutenant colonel in the US Army. Apart from this, Tulsi has also been deployed in the Middle East and Africa.
As Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard will oversee 18 intelligence agencies, including the CIA and FBI.
