First review of $7 billion loan, negotiations between Pakistan and IMF begin
According to the details, the IMF delegation has reached Pakistan for economic review, the sources of the Ministry of Finance said that the negotiations with the IMF delegation have started in Islamabad.
Officials of the Ministry of Finance are participating in the introductory session with the IMF delegation, the economic review talks will continue till March 15.
Sources said that in the first phase there will be technical and in the second phase there will be policy-level talks, in which the IMF delegation will give proposals for the budget of the next financial year 2025-26.
Sources said that the IMF will hold talks with other institutions and ministries including Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Energy and Planning, State Bank, FBR, OGRA, NEPA.
Apart from this, there will be separate talks with Punjab, Sindh, KP and Balochistan.
