The Afghan Taliban delegation has reached Japan for the first time outside the region.
According to local media, the Afghan delegation left Kabul on Saturday for a week-long visit that includes officials from the ministries of higher education, foreign affairs and economy.
According to the report, the Taliban delegation will discuss humanitarian aid and possibly diplomatic relations with Japanese officials.
Afghan Deputy Minister of Economy Latif Nazari has said that Afghanistan wants to have dignified relations to become an active member of the international community. During the visit, the Afghan delegation will meet with Japanese officials.
On the other hand, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not immediately comment on the matter.
