Pakistan's bank deposits hit historic highs
KARACHI: According to the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan's bank deposits reached a historic high.
According to State Bank, there was a significant increase in bank deposits by 17.90% in one year, from August 2022 to August 2023, bank deposits increased by 3958 billion.
At the end of August 2023, bank deposits reached the highest level of 26 thousand 110 billion.
According to the central bank, bank deposits increased by 1.60 percent in August 2023 compared to July 2023, bank deposits increased by Rs 408 billion in a month.
In July this year, banking deposits had increased by Rs 2699 billion in one year and on June 23, bank deposits had set the highest level of Rs 25 thousand 508 billion.
The State Bank had said that an increase of 11.80 percent was recorded in banking deposits in one year. From May 23 to June 23, an increase of 1120 billion rupees was recorded in banking deposits, while in June 22, banking deposits were 22 thousand 809 billion rupees.
