Good news for people, possibility of reduction in electricity price
The government has decided to return the excess receipts to the electricity consumers.
The good news for the people is that the government has come up with a plan to refund the excess amount collected to the consumers, which will reduce the price of electricity by Rs 2 per unit.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has filed a request for monthly fuel adjustment for January, on which the NEPRA authority will hear the request on February 27.
In January, 7 billion 81 crore 60 lakh units of electricity were supplied to DISCOs, the production cost of which was Rs 10 78 paise per unit, the reference fuel cost for January was Rs 13 1 paise per unit.
In January, 10.63% of electricity was generated from water, 15.56% from domestic coal, 8.53% from imported coal, 1.35% from furnace oil, 13.11% from domestic gas, 18.92% from imported LN, 26.61% from nuclear fuel in January.
